Lawn Mowers

Welcome to High Quality Store Lawn Mowers Collection

The mower, also known as a lawnmower, is a fundamental tool for lawns and gardens.

The inventor of this machine, patented in England in 1830, was Edwin Beard Budding. The son of a small landowner, Edward's main goal was to make maintenance of the turf of the sports fields easier, more and more widespread in the years immediately preceding the industrial revolution.

The original model designed by the British inventor was composed of a frame with two rollers: the rear one, thanks to the gardener's thrust, started the front roller, equipped with blades. At a time when the only way to cut the grass was the scythe, the idea of Budding represented an epochal turning point, destined to evolve and improve over time.

Currently there are many models of lawn mowers, grouped into four main categories: electric mowers, motorized, robotized and manual.

The main difference between the first two types is that electric mowers (generally less cumbersome and cheaper) are connected to the electric system, while the powered mowers are powered by petrol.

The robotic mowers are the most modern: fully automated, equipped with rechargeable batteries and a positioning system that allows them to change the direction in case of obstacles. Finally, the manual ones are the direct descendants of the Budding model. Being very manageable and less expensive, they are recommended for small surfaces.

How to choose a lawnmower

To select the mower best suited to your needs, you need to consider several factors.

The power of the engine is undoubtedly the first parameter to keep in mind at the time of purchase, especially if the surface to be treated is particularly extensive.

In addition, lawns with denser, thicker grasses could jeopardize the performance of an inadequately powered lawnmower or even wear it out prematurely.

In principle, for extensions up to 250 square meters, a 4-horsepower (or 1800-watt) mower should be more than enough. Choosing a model of excessive power compared to the use that one intends to make of it is not advisable, not only because of the greater consumption, but also because of the less manageability of the appliance.

The diameter of the circumference generated by the blade of the mower (or cutting width), is another element to be taken into consideration. A greater width makes the mower more performing and therefore allows to obtain the desired result with fewer passes. This will save you time, but the machine will be more voluminous and less practical to use in smaller gardens.

The blade of the blades is another detail not to be underestimated. Better to choose triple-blade blades rather than double or single, and it is recommended to check that they are slightly blunt. As for the wheels, it is good that they are robust, proportionate to the size of the tool and adjustable to different heights, both front and rear.

Finally the "mulching", that is the function of chopping the grass very finely and then redistributing it evenly on the ground, creating a natural fertilizer; It is a great advantage, especially for the maintenance of large gardens or parks, as it avoids the emptying and disposal of cut grass.

Maintenance and correct use of the mower

Proper use and maintenance of your lawnmower will not only ensure its efficiency and durability, but will also prevent unpleasant accidents.

Make sure that the screws and the bolts are tightened. This is the first step that should be observed in order to obtain better results. It is also important to remove from the ground that you are about to treat pebbles, wire or anything else that could damage the blades of the appliance.

Finally, it is good to use the machine only on dry grass, since the damp grass tends to form a mixture that could jam the engine compromising the performance of the tool. Moreover, block removal could be very risky if not done by expert hands.

In this regard, keep in mind that the mower can be an extremely dangerous tool if it is not handled with care: every time you leave the machine, always turn off the engine and clean the tool only when you it is cooled.
